Customer Reviews Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80637I73770K This processor is fabulous. Very fast with zero wait state. Programs open immediately in windows 7. I work with ProShow Producer. Encoding of videos takes 5 minutes with 8 threads enabled. My E8400 core 2 duo windows xp system took 3 hours for the same encoding process. Math calculations are incredibly fast. Very happy with performance. I use programs that utilize the full functionality of the processor. The proformance is night and day compared to a high end core 2 duo processor. I use a GTX 480 graphics card which also improves performance. I use intell's water cooled cpu cooler for the 3770k. It fits perfectly even though it is made for the extreme i7 processors. The only draw back of the 3770k is that it overheats when it is overclocked. I do not overclock the processor for that reason. But other than that it is a very fast, stable, and reliable procesor.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 AM3 3.4Ghz 512KB 45NM 125W 4000MHZ

AMD Phenom II X4 965 AM3 3.4Ghz 512KB 45NM 125W 4000MHZ
We build computers so we are constantly looking at the best value of hardware for our builds. This AMD Phenom II QUAD 965 is really sweet. We were not sure about this choice. We had a previous phenom ii, the 940 that was underwhelming. But after looking at the various dual core options in AMD we gave it a go. This was a good decision. We like the Xigmatek S-1283 cooler. It is tall, but very quiet and at around $30 it is a super cooler. The cpu has moderate power requirements for reasonable operating temperatures. It is rated 125 watts. You have to make sure your motherboard takes those 125 and 140 watt cpu's. AMD finally solved the Phenom ii speed problem, and this cpu at 3.4ghz ROCKS. We use ASUS whenever we can for mainboards. So we married this cpu to a ASUS AM3 socket M4A88T-M motherboard that has great features and easy setup. We think the architecture of the cache on this processor makes it a better gaming choice over the competition. You can pay a little less for a 955 AMD quad, but stretch to the 965. You'll be glad you did! Our latest build with that Phenom II 965 and Asus M488t-M was completed with a Radeon 5770 video card and Kingson Blue DDR3 memory. We like the XM-5U front mount card readers and all SATA Western Digital and Liteon DVD-R for storage. It is plenty fast for the latest high graphic intense games. Very Nice and we did it ourselves saving a bunch,

I have had this processor since January, and it has done everything I have asked it to do...........Quickly. I use my PC for video encoding(Power Director 10), DVD authoring(PD10), music recording/mixing/mastering(Sonar X1), gaming, word processing, and graphic design with with the Adobe Suite CS4. This little gem as helped me do all of those tasks quickly, for a good price. I have this paired with a GTX 460 from MSI, a 500 GB HD for the programs, and a separate 1TB drive for storage, and this PC rocks! It should suit me well for the next several years......and considering many programs today have yet to utilize more than 2 cores, it should suit many folks for a while. I've got it overclocked to 4.2 on a Gigabyte board..it is a 4+1 phase MB, and hasn't killed this board since I have it OC'd, so it isn't sucking TOO much extra juice. Meaning, that you can probably get a basic, "cheap" board, and run this baby at stock, or even a slight overclock, without damaging your motherboard. I'd recommend ANY of the Phenom 11 X4 series CPU's, they are plenty for my needs, and I'm suspecting, the needs of many others. MY current Specs Gigabyte 880gm-Ud2H Phenom II X4 965 BE MSI N460GTX 1GB cyclone 500 GB Caviar Blue (programs) 1 TB Seagate Barracuda (storage), 5900 RPM drive ASUS DVD burner Lite-ON DVD Burner OCZ 700 MODXSTREAM PRO PSU P236 Acer Monitor, Logitech 100 mouse/wireless keyboard combo. Love this rig!

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K
So brief backstory, I was in need of upgrade, my last machine was a Phenom 965 BE, 16gb of ram, i work with alot of VM's and even with all that ram it still chugged when i fired up my 4th VM...Enter the i5 3570k =D I love this processor so far, i'm still on stock speeds currently, same ram and the machine handles 4 VMs without problem. I like a queit machine and the cooling fan on this is just that, SILENT... installation was a breeze and i am thoroughly suprised by the HD4000, i'm actually able to play skyrim on 1080p low settings which of course by most standards is poor but for an "onboard" this really made me smile, i even played BF3 a little. This is a very good purchase for anyone, save the bucks and go for this instead of ah 3770k, I've seen 3570k's hit 4.5ghz using large air coolers, so i'd recommend the Noctua NH-D14 if your going extreme overclocking. definitely cant go wrong with this CPU.

I bought this processor for a gaming only rig. I have it paired with an ASRock Z77 Pro4-M, 8GB DDR3-1333 RAM and a Radeon HD 7770. The machine works flawlessly. Every game I've tried I'm running at the highest graphics settings with no issues. For the majority (I'd say 95% just to throw out a number) of apps and games the i5 provides more than enough power. The reality is most applications are not designed/optimized to use 6-8 cores/threads so you gain no real performance advantages. That is why the i7 only score very marginally higher than the i5 in game benchmarks; few things can/do make use of the i7s extra power. Most gamers feel like 30FPS is "playable" and 60+ is optimal and the i5 might do 1-3 FPS less than the i7. Bottom line ... if you want the best gaming CPU (and its overkill for most everything else except high-end video editing/graphics work) ... get this one.
